Honestly, I slightly agree with some of the criticism (“ Hump De Bump” is lyrically just the worst), but I believe it’s no coincidence that the rise of their notoriety coincided with the rise in popularity of publications that thrive off of unnecessary snark. Sadly, I’ve long since given up on changing people’s opinions on them, though that doesn’t stop me from nudging them to a specific record or song. It’s a loaded statement, both vulnerable and hyperbolic in an almost cringe worthy manner, but it’s the unadulterated truth and something I think about very frequently in my life. Without John Frusciante, I do not know what type of person I would be today. This Week’s Selection Chosen By Doug Nunnally Shadows Collide With People by John Frusciante
